i am not sure i follow you here, but maybe try removing the
guidelines in your default, save, close, reopen, set guidelines, save
and close. then try the process again.

I was thinking of the file you used to show the guideline appearing
in the pdf:

that was just a default file with a few adjustments, then screen capture.
