This sounds like a Human Playback issue. In certain styles, Human Playback makes small adjustments in the tempo, like a rit at the end, but doesn't do it with mathematical certainty. If you want only exact tempos, you will have to dig into the guts of Human Playback and find out how to

Jan has given you some great information and suggestions. Another suggestion is to ask your recording engineer whether his software can accept MusicXML files (more and more of them can accept that) -- perhaps if his software can accept the MusicXML files you will get more accurate playback.

Hey, folks. Had something weird happen at a recording session. Wrote a new opera on Finale 2010 (just got the e-mail saying that it's getting premiered in NYC this Fall - yay!). I saved the .mus files as MIDI files per the drop-down menu, and sent them to the recording engineer. We started
