[Finale] Shift system margins?
Hi there, This is a question I probably should know the answer to, but don't: Surely there is some way — plugin-based or otherwise — to shift system margin settings from one group of staves to another? For instance, let's say I'm consolidating system 1-2 into a single system, and so I would like the system margins I have set up from systems 3-99 to be moved to systems 2-98. How do I do that? Re: [Finale] Shift system margins?
Is this something JW Copy layout can do? You can select a group of measures and apply the layout to target measures. Will this work for you? Re: [Finale] Shift system margins?
TGTools Joing Staff Systems does a fairly good job, but it fails to pick expression (and maybe also lyric) baseline changes. Another technique you could try is to insert an empty measure in the system you want to delete.. Force all the other measures onto the systems you want to keep and use delete staff system. This might produce a better result than TGTools. I honestly haven't tested it. On Sat, Apr 26, 2014 at 1:27 PM, Ryan Beard ry.squa...@gmail.com wrote: TGTools Join Staff Systems. Re: [Finale] Shift system margins?
Hi Robert, Thanks! I think I'll try your method another time on something simpler… this is a 14-movement piece for 2 orchestras using a lot of unconventional notation, with everything (linked parts and score) residing in the same document. It's VERY easy to screw up the score layout even in the normal course of events (plus I lost 4 hours work last night to file corruption) so I don't think I have the stomach to try inserting or delete systems in this file. I'll give the TGTools a shot (though Join Staff Systems is a very counter-intuitive name… ) Cheers, - DJA - WEB: http://www.secretsocietymusic.org On Apr 26, 2014, at 2:35 PM, Robert Patterson rob...@robertgpatterson.com wrote: TGTools Joing Staff Systems does a fairly good job, but it fails to pick expression (and maybe also lyric) baseline changes.
