Re: [Finale] quarter-tone symbols
Here are screenshots of 43 quarter-tone accidentals fonts for Finale: https://elbsound.studio/quarter-tone-accidentals.php Links to the fonts can be found here: https://elbsound.studio/music-fonts.php The 25 music fonts from the Elbsound Music Font Package <https://elbsound.studio/elbsound-music-font-package-for-finale.php> also have at least the 4# and 4b accidentals. To enter them in Finale there are several options: 1.) Create your custom scale (there is good tutorial somewhere ... can't remember ... -> Google) https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Finale2014Win/Content/Finale/KENONDLG.htm 2.) If you only need two additional symbols (e.g. b, 4b, natural, 4# and # - and not x, bb or others), then you could replace the standard accidental symbols in the document options and apply them just like regular accidentals in speedy entry. An example template can be downloaded here (website in French): http://finale-logiciel-aide-gravure-musicale.eu/viewtopic.php?f=14=741 3.) On my quarter tone website above I use a JW Lua plugin to convert articulations or expressions to quarter-tone accidentals (see the videos on that page). But the plugin is not yet available to the public. It still needs an update of JW Lua by Jari Williamsson. Re: [Finale] quarter-tone symbols
hey aaron, neueweise has quarter tones, also has versions with inflection arrows (design is optimized so arowheads are still legible at reduced sizes, e.g., grace notes, reduced size scores...) and parentheses. and the xenakis quarter tones if for some reason you insist on them. PDF of character charts available at: http://newmusicnotation.com/fonts.html the font design is meant to specifically address issues of graphic clarity and horizontal "real estate" encountered in dense and/or detailled music. cheers, jef At 5:09 PM -0600 1/29/17, Aaron Rabushka wrote: >Which fonts have full sets of quarter-tone symbols? -- neueweise -- fonts for new music (and traditional) notation http://newmusicnotation.com/fonts.html shirling & neueweise | http://newmusicnotation.com new music notation + arts management + translation [FB] http://facebook.com/neueweise | [TW] http://twitter.com/neueweise ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu
