I've played a bit with this method. The big drawback is needing to cancel the pitch bend after each instance with another expression. Finale is so close in already allowing any number of written accidentals between diatonic pitches and also a different number for each if wanted. Steve

In that case, the pagesizes.txt that Finale is using is not the one you edited. The page sizes menu in the Setup Wizard is constructed from the pagesizes.txt file. On Mac, if you're using Finale 2011, you have to edit the file in the library in your user folder, not in the main library.

Hi all! How does human playback know that a fermata is a fermata? I've added some longer and shorter fermata symbols, but HP is ignoring them. The duration percentage specifications in the articulation designer only affect length but without halting the tempo. Thanks! Steve P.

I can't be much help, although I've found that cut and paste can reliably transfer layout changes. What I will say though is 'Come over to the dark side of linked parts!' Any advantages to the part-extraction method are much more than made up for by the convenience of going back and forth.
