[Finale] Crashing

2019-02-10 Thread Lawrence David Eden
Finale 25 has been crashing on my Mac running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. I am
using Speedy to enter notes and Finale crashes suddenly.
I have MIDI THRU turned OFF, but after each crash, Finale enables MIDI THRU and
I have to turn it off again. The crashes are a new occurrence.

I got this report from Finale on its last crash. I hope someone can tell me
how to fix this issue as it is making Finale useless. Thanks!

I updated to the Mac Sierra OS and had the same problem. You have to
upgrade to the latest version of Finale for it to work correctly in Sierra.

[Finale] Crashing!

2017-04-18 Thread Jón Kristinn Cortez
Hello all.

Crash, all files old and new, when I try to use Articulation and Expression
tools on files back from proof-reading. Can not double-click and input new
Arti/Expr, but can move and work with already input signs. All other tools seem
to work fine. The same on iMac and MacBook.
Have de-authorized and installed a new copy on iMac but nothing changes, all
crash!

Finale 2014d.v5545
iMac macOS Sierra version 10.12.4 - Memory 16GB (4 weeks old)
MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 - Memory 8GB

Any ideas?

[Finale] Finale crashing when specifying verse

2013-10-14 Thread Ryan
Hello,
Finale is becoming unresponsive after I enter a lyric verse and change to
verse 2 using the Specify Current Lyric item on the Lyrics menu.
I have one verse in, and that went smoothly. The spinning beach ball pops
up when I click on a note to enter the next verse of lyrics.
Any idea what could be causing this?

I did that last year, and it was a waste of money. I really cannot get
Sibelius to get the quality of output I can get with Finale, plus Bill
Duncan's templates are not on there, so, I'd have to redo all my
templates.

How many other Mac applications do people have to trash the

As Eric mentioned, make sure you have the right prefs from the right
place.

Also, another issue that seems to have cropped up in 2009 (mac
version only, I believe) is that if you re-shape the tool palette,
this causes prefs to become corrupted. Also when I move it to another
screen (I have two) this causes problems, but not all the time, only
mostly...

But on the other hand, chord symbols transpose correctly in no-key-
sig transposing parts!

But on the first hand again, dotted rests in the Jazz Font space
incorrectly in new documents, but not in old documents.

So maybe you have some choice...

So do I now go back to FIN 2004 to avoid all the temperamental
garbage that this program has acquired? I really hate this new
Finale junk.

2008-10-14 Thread Eric Dannewitz
Preference file is in /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences I think. It is
easy to delete, and Finale will run.
It actually happens with a lot of versions of Finale, and those of us who
have newer Macs, we can't run Finale 2004.

Good point because now it crashes all the time! I can't even change the
preferences because it will will not relaunch once I quit

So do I now go back to FIN 2004 to avoid all the temperamental garbage that
