being held at the Watkins Glen High School Auditorium on Thursday. April 14th from 7-9pm. This Forum is being held to inform the public about how out of state Inergy LP plans to store hundreds of millions of gallons of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in salt caverns right next to and under Seneca Lake. They also plan to store nearly a hundred million gallons of very salty Brine in a 14 acre open pit on the steep slope above the lake. I think this is the most significant threat to our Finger Lakes today and is directly related to NY State's Marcellus Shale gas and the hydrofracking that they think is imminent.
