August 5, 2008 Dear New York safe energy advocates: Below is a copy of a memo we received today from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission concerning a public meeting in Oswego, New York on August 21, 2008, to discuss the upcoming application for a Construction/Operating License for a new atomic reactor at Nine Mile Point. We hope as many of you as possible will make it to this meeting and let Unistar and the NRC know that New York opposes new reactors! NIRS is actively working against a similar reactor Unistar has proposed for Maryland. Feel free to contact us if we can provide more information about the NRC’s licensing process or anything else.
