I installed gcc2.95.2.pkg then changed gcc_select back to 3.3, my current
version and everything worked fine.

In the meantime, you can install packages from the binary distribution,

apt-get requires all of the packages in the dependency lists to be
installed before it can do its thing. Since the initial message asked
you to install python, you should try doing that (either from source or
binary).
All apt-get install or remove operations require you to be root (use
sudo),

I have a machine that I cannot connect to the internet but I want to
install Fink. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to
create and setup an offline repository so that I can install Fink and
other packages? I have access to DVD's as well as removable hard
drives.
