gcc2 comes from the Xcode disk, IIRC. It's not installed by default.

Oh, sorry. IIRC is "If I Recall Correctly." If you install the fink
package "wtf" you can look those up.
I'm guessing the version of lyx you're compiling won't compile with
gcc3. Things changed (got stricter, I think) between 2 and 3 wrt c++.

gcc2 comes from the Xcode disk, IIRC. It's not installed by default.
