This is where I started with the error train only occurred to me within
bundle-gnome install.
Latest update for me. Problems appear to be mutiplying. Now can't even
get update-all to run after reinstalling x11-SDK.
Get this after selecting update all and then selecting pm 581 (Perl)
when running the fink updata-all (rsync) i get errors
when it gets to the xfree86 packages. i recently
upgraded apple's x11 with osx 10.3.2. i read in the
faq that i obviously should only have either apple's
release or fink's release, but that i need some

previous recommendations. Even trashed stuff directly from OS X Finder.

What, if any, "system-xfree86" packages show up when you run
"fink-virtual-pkgs"?
If you don't have any of them, then you need to reinstall the main X11
package--sometimes a file doesn't show up for some mysterious reason.

Run "fink-virtual-pkgs" and make sure that you have 'system-xfree86-dev' and 'system-xfree86-shlibs' as well as 'system-xfree86'.
