Jack, this passes self-tests on my 10.8 without gl_cv_func_printf_directive_a=no (documented as being needed on darwin>=12, cf. my darwin-12.5.0). Could you verify that the bug you found is fixed? Please let me know (and obviously also if anything else/new is broken).
