The maintainer of Fink's guile package recently sent me the info and
patch files that allow Guile 1.6.1 to compile and run on OSX. My guess
is he didn't commit the mods to Fink because Guile is actually now at
version 1.6.3 and he doesn't want to double his work for an outdated
