ur prob is that u want to install xfree86-base
this is the fink equiv of apple's X11 installer
what u want to do is this in the terminal:
'sudo apt-get install system-xfree86'
(without quotes) after you have done apt-get update
then it'll all work correctly

u didn't install the SDK for apple's X11. It's linked to from the main
page

I agree that the rootless package is kind of pointless, but as Anthony
DeRobertis [EMAIL PROTECTED] said there are many situations
when X11 libs, but no X server are needed. but because fink installs ALL
of XFree86 except the server in one package that argument is moot until
we see many more
i suppose that it is better to be able to have incrimental upgrades w/
separate packages. but xfree86-rootless always depends on the latest
xfree86-base. so we still upgrade the whole, just it takes more steps.
I'd like to see many more parts/sections of the xfree86 packages. I'd b

Hi all, I just found out this morning that I'm the maintainer of
'libnids' Until now i didn't know I was. :) Now I need to know how
I can update and/or edit the package description. I know nothing and
there was no readily available info on the sourceforge page. I'm about
to go and try
