You'll have to play with libtool a little more than that. I would suggest patching the ltmain.sh and ltconfig which come with kde. From what I understand kde wants to load dylibs at runtime and/or link against loadable modules. Is that correct? In this case you'll have to change the library

Building statically, it looks like it is slowly becoming at least possible to compile arts and large amounds of kdelibs. My question is, with the new experimental dlcompat library does anyone think it may become possible to build kde3 shared? The biggest barrier to it would seem to be libtool; K
