Ben: This has been fixed for some time - all you have to do is "fink
selfupdate-cvs". The URL is now ibiblio.org. Hopefully it is more
stable, but how can you really know?

And BTW: this comes from the hdf5 dependency. hdf5 depends on hdf, which
depends on f2c fortran. If people

I was working on splitoff-ifying my rrdtool package, and while checking
everything, I noticed that the version info isn't ending up into the
library:
---(snip!)---
/sw/lib/librrd-1.0.33.dylib:
/sw/lib/librrd-1.0.33.dylib (compatibility version 0.0.0, current version
0.0.0)

there is a problem with the docbook-dtd-4.1.2-1 install script. the last
mkdir, where it breaks, breaks because there is a trailing /. it needs
to be removed (or at least given the -p switch), or GNU mkdir from
fileutils chokes:

Other than my libtool versioning issue
Just to clarify one thing: you are welcome to try and get your
packages working using splitoffs, but don'T check those into the
regular fink cvs just yet, since 99% of users won't be able to use
them yet - you can start putting them into regular CVS once Fink
0.9.9 has been released.

Good old, reliable Apple. Ok, I have removed the trailing /s from every
docbook related package and posted the updated files to the fink package
submission page ("docbook-* fixes and updates").
Also, I updated the nwalsh dsssl stylesheet package to 1.76.

the problem does not occur when the -p option is used...only when it is
used without it, eg.: mkdir me/ would fail.
on a side note, i seem to be getting doubles of messages on this list,
the first one without the sourceforge footer, and the second
