It was lost in that nobody told me about it :-) .  I wasn’t actually monitoring 
the xfig bug reports myself.  Thanks for the information.

I guess the easiest solution for our purposes is not to use our libxaw3dxft 
package as a dependency in xfig, since that’s intentionally built differently 
than the Xquartz libXaw3d.  This option works for me in my own testing.
