There are two ways to remove fink packages:
1) fink remove foo will remove foo, as long as nothing else depends on foo
2) sudo apt-get remove foo will remove foo and also remove everything
that depends on foo.
The second one will list the packages it is going to remove, and ask if

hi there,
it seems to me that my last fink update-all has somehow broken my
tetex installation again:
when I launch xdvi I get the following error:
Xdvi Error:
Could not find config file xdvi.cfg in path
/sw/share/texmf/xdvi:/sw/var/lib/texmf/web2c:/sw/share/texmf/web2c -
disabling T1lib.
and
I *know* it was working at one point...but that was back when I was
running 10.2. I didn't think to try it right away after a clean
install of 10.3, so I just found out that it wasn't working now :-(
I can't seem to find any error logs about it either.

Hi,
I'll need fftw soon and I've noticed that v3 is not available under
10.3 (while is available under 10.2-gcc3.3). Since fftw3 is not
backward compatible with v2 (that is present for both 10.2 and 10.3
trees) I'd like to know if the wait for v3 under 10.3 will be long or
not. In the latter

Hi folks.
I am running Jaguar. I updated fink (fink selfupdate, etc) and then
installed GIMP with apt-get install gimp. Everything seemed to work OK,
and GIMP runs, but it won't open or create any image type except for its
own (XCF). This is no good - I need to work with some TIFFs and JPEGs. Any
