Observation:
With XDarwin/Gnome running full screen and in the background I find that
my system load is only about .15, but my Powerbook is burning hot. My
conclusion is that the GPU (which is not reported by top) must be wide
open throttle. Everything goes back to normal when I quit XDarwin. I

I've had xfree86 4.3.0 installed via the official X11 binaries for quite
a while. Now I'm running into some problems. When I try to update some
fink packages (abiword for example) it wants to reinstall/rebuild xfree86
from source because the system-xfree86 is for X11 4.2. I really don't
