When I use the smb command provided by Apple, I get a lot of init_iconv
warning.
Is it due to fink's installing its own iconv library ?

This built and installed for me, but I had to manually remove qt3 for it
to work; the installer was aware of the conflict and so stopped; I
imagine the dependency engine had been confused. MacOs 10.4.2.
Oh, also, the build took some 8 or 10 hours. I'll keep the build log for
