After a 'fink selfupdate-cvs' and 'fink update-all', using the unstable tree of Fink, on a PowerBook 500 Firewire; OS-10.1.4, and the December Developers' Tools, I got the following result: /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 /sw/src/freetype2-2.0.8-4/freetype-2.0.8/builds/unix/ft2unix.h
