Hi, I have finished upgrading qt3 to version 3.3.3-16, kdebase3-ssl to version 3.3.1-11, and kdelibs3-ssl to version 3.3.1-12, but now KDE is having two problems with fonts.
(1) xlsfonts reports an entire set of luxi fonts, including serif / sans / mono, bold / medium, and roman / italic, in more encodings than I know what to do with, but none of them show up in the KDE Control Center in the Fonts panel under Appearances & Themes. The luxi fonts also fail to show up under Fonts under Web Browser under Internet & Network in the Control Center, and under the Fonts section of Configure Konquerer. (2) When I choose a bold font, KDE seems to recognize that I have done so, but renders the font in medium. This happens in the actual font selection box (i.e., the sample text is always medium rather than bold) as well as in whatever application I'm running (konsole, konquerer, the Control Panel). Italic works fine, just not bold (i.e., bold italic comes out as just italic). Very curiously, all my Mac OS X fonts now show up in the various KDE font selection dialogs, but I can't find one that will admit to having a bold weight. I did not have either of these problems with kde/qt 3.2. I removed all of ~/.kderc, ~/.kde, ~/.qt, ~/.fonts-cache-1, ~/.fonts.conf, but still have the same symptoms. $ fink list -i xfree Information about 3256 packages read in 3 seconds. i xfree86 4.4.0-3 Free X11 implementation for Darwin and Ma... i xfree86-shlibs 4.4.0-3 Free X11 implementation for Darwin and Ma... $ sw_vers; fink --version ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.2.8 BuildVersion: 6R73 Package manager version: 0.23.1 Distribution version: 0.6.3.rsync Thank you for any insight, Dan -- Dan Sommers Atoms are not things.
