OK. Problem solved. I was experimenting and found that abiword
worked fine if I simply typed "abiword" in an xterm window. But it
crashed if I tried to launch it using the icon I had created in
WindowMaker. I checked the settings for the icon, and found that it
was set to call /sw/bin/abiword_d. I removed the "_d", and
everything was fine.

Lesson learned - don't create icons in Windowmaker by simply dragging
the icon for a running application to the icon well. You might have
to fine tune the settings to get things to work.

Abiword 1.0.1-2 appears to work fine now that I've sorted out how to
start it :)

Thanks,

Kevin
