Oh, i see that came in with Security Update 2015-001.  Weird, as other 
security updates haven't seemed to update the point.

I'd think it would, too.  Now that the semester's over i do plan to 
make time for updating to 10.9 at least, though.

Yeah, the cutoff for darwin 12 is .5. Perhaps some maintenance update for 10.8 
bumped the kernel version without actually being “OS X 10.8.6”.  

And since I’m primarily on 10.10, I just assumed 10.8 was coasting along 
nicely. :-)

This will be remedied in the next release.
