The answer is yes. I also deinstall/reinstall .Net 1.1, still the same.
I made another Win XP installation from the very beginning ( with SP2
almost all actual patches etc.) and then the FB 1.7.1 RC3 installation.
Then the following error message appears 'This application has failed to
start because MSVCR71.dll was not found'  and then 'cannot register
assembly FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.dll'.
But the MSVCR71.dll is in the
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 folder.

Any ideas ?.
