a point release, i.e., the same software with patches. You need to do
this. Just keep safe copies of security2.fdb, firebird.conf

Not related to your question, but why are you using such an old version?
The latest 2.5 is 2.5.8 (with 2.5.9 around the corner), and the version
you are using has

whereas user those are not under manager role should not be able to modify the
procedure, they should only be executing the procedure.
