Labels are not focusable elements. What version of ActionScript are you
using?

Vivek,
This is a limitation of the component focus Manager. If you used
button components or non-component textfields the behavior you describe
wouldn't exist.

JAWS uses quick navigation keys. You can turn them off by hitting
ins+n, if only to diagnose the issue. JAWS builds in additional
shortcuts - you can navigate to controls from the ins+f5 control dialog,
for example.
I'm happy to take a look if you can send a link.

As far as I can see, the only restriction introduced by this
solution is that one cannot navigate through the tabEnabled
controls anymore using the arrow keys. But I believe the TAB
/ SHIFT+TAB keys are sufficient for this.
They are. This limitation is expected for component-based

Left arrow and down arrow - decrement slider
Ctrl+up and Ctrl+right - large increment
Ctrl+down and ctrl+left - large decrement
Home/end - lowest and highest slider positions
Hope this helps,

What about accessability/use-ability/SEO-friendly aspects?
We just released skins for Flash 8 that support captioning and that are
accessible to disabled users. I've got them on our accessibility blog
for now, but will move them to the Flash exchange soon.

Do you know how to use a screen reader? Which one and what version are you
using?
Can you post a sample?

Interesting. What version of JAWS are you testing with? What version
of the Flash player? Can you post a link? The FLA?
Thanks,

Vivek,
I put together a post on this topic at:

Short answer: it depends.

Mousekeys should work fine, the main problem is that you can't lean on
this feature exclusively for keyboard access in your application. If you
enable drag-and-drop functionality in your application the right way
handle keyboard access is to implement keystrokes to create an
equivalent keyboard
As was pointed out in the blog comments, this is not a good idea since
it has negative implications for accessibility.
The yellow focus rectangle is good for many users.
