[Flashcoders] Scroll Pane Component - Issue with Scrolling when using mouse wheel

2006-07-22 Thread azsl1326-email
Hello All

 I am using the scroll pane component loading content via an external swf. I
have noticed that the only way the content will scroll with the mouse wheel is
if the mouse(cursor) is over the scroll bar. If the cursor is over the content
and I attempt to scroll using the mouse wheel, it doesn't work. Is this the
correct functionality of the scroll pane?

 Thanks for any and all replies.

I'm trying to set up a local apache server for testing PHP on my
laptop. This is all new territory for me and although I've followed
instructions on several sites, it won't work. I do have TCP/IP
working. During setup and when trying to start the server, I get
this DOS message:

Installing the Apache2.2 service
The Apache2.2 service is successfully installed.
Testing httpd.conf
Errors reported here must be corrected before the service can be started.
(OS 10048)Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network
address/port)

is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
Note the errors or messages above, and press the key to exit. 25...

I then tried installing WAMP, which integrates the apache server
functionality. I used it to have Apache test port 80 (which is what
the server is using) and first got a DOS alert that Skype might be
using it. Closed Skype, re-tested port 80, and got the DOS alert
"Your port 80 is not actually used."

Then I used WAMP to "Install Service" and got the DOS message:
"Your port 80 is available, Install will proceed." But a subsequent
test of Port 80 once again indicated "Your port 80 is not actually used."

WAMP allows direct setting of the WWW root, and I have pointed it
to a location with an index.html file. But my browser (firefox)
cannot open http://localhost/ or http://localhost/test01 where I
have another index.html file.

I'd appreciate help from anyone who understands this stuff.

Thanks,
Marc

Re: [Flashcoders] Speak into microphone & Save as wav to sever, is it possible in Flash9 /AS3/Flex2 ??!

2006-07-22 Thread Martin Wood
If you use FMS then it does indeed store the audio as .flv but its encoded with
NellyMoser so there isnt a simple way of using that audio in anything else but
flash.

There is also the open source Red5 project which again records .flv files
(NellyMoser encoded, not by choice) which of course is free.

There is a supposed 'flv -> mp3' converter coming from Adobe but i've only seen
people talking and waiting for it.

I would love to see a solution that allows you to record audio from flash in any
usable format (NellyMoser is so limited in availability and usage that to me its
unusable)

Maybe if enough people shout loud enough Adobe will deliver, but im not holding
my breath.

OK! I want the user only to press a button in the flash movie to record what

the user says in the microphone. And than press a stop butten to stop
recording sound.

Please help me, this project depends on it.

Re: [Flashcoders] AS3, BitmapData and domain security

2006-07-22 Thread Bernard Poulin

I am not sure this is relevant to the discussion but:

Your proxy trick will not work to access resources from "local machines"
within a client's NAT. The flash player could potentially access those
since it is already located behind the NAT.
What I mean is that the flash player might have network access to some
non-internet-public stuff.

I don't see the point of restricting access to BitmapData from another
server when all you have to do to get at it is use a proxy script on
your own server. Here's an example:

http://www.neave.com/temp/proxy.php?proxy_url=http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logo.gif

The image looks as though it's coming from my server but it's actually
coming from a domain I don't have server-side access to. So from
Flash's point of view, there's no security risk. In AS3:

var request:URLRequest = new
URLRequest("http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logo.gif";);
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
loader.load(request);
addChild(loader);

would work fine, but I can't use BitmapData methods on the image. If
I replace the URL with the proxied one above, I'd be able to use
BitmapData without any problem. As far as I can see, any potential
"hacker" could use a proxy script like this so I don't see what
security benefit there is apart from just annoying developers!

I'm now left with two options: 1) either proxy the image so I can
access BitmapData (which costs me bandwidth and is much slower than
direct access, especially if you're accessing many images at once) or
2) don't use BitmapData and put up with having the images pixelated
when scaled or rotated. Either way it doesn't make me happy :(

well you could duplicate mc's inside the loaded swf's timeline,
like using the loaded swf as container:

loadMovieNum("ladi.swf", 1);
function onEnterFrame (Void):Void
{
var gbl:Number= _level1.getBytesLoaded();
var gbt:Number= _level1.getBytesTotal();
if (gbl > 10 &&
gbt != undefined) {
if (gbl == gbt) {
delete onEnterFrame
var mc:MovieClip =
_level1.mc.duplicateMovieClip("mc_new",1);
}

}

}
