RE: [Flashcoders] Projector Serial Number protection

Shame - it has some great functionality.

Is there a more stable alternative 'wrapper' that anyone can recommend?

I second that notion. Zinc is not your friend.

I had high hopes for v3.0 because they rewrote from the ground up and

We finally said enough. They got our money to upgrade to v3 but they'll

I even considered taking one that required Zinc.

Cheers guys - Zinc looks quite sturdy and possibly a nice
investment,
depending on whether the (humanoid) client wants to go for something

Found a few other products that let you bundle in serial protection

Re: [Flashcoders] Audio Player play/pause state: PLEASE HELP

2009-06-06 Thread Karl DeSaulniers
Would it be out of the question to have the audio player open in it's
own window? Or have your HTML pages load in an Iframe and have the
audio player sitting outside that Iframe? Then you stay at one page
while still loading your other HTML and your player stays put. :)

Just a thought.

There is a way to send a variable in the URL too. Something like:

http://website.com/page.html?variable=value

Then have a script that reads that value back to the player. I think
this may be the hard way though.

My idea is to store play/pause state in some variable (or XML), so

[Flashcoders] Re: Loading images at the same time, bugs in Flash AS3 (Anthony Pace)

2009-06-06 Thread Isaac Alves
I couldn't send the .rar file with the code to the list...so I'm sending
just the text this time! Thanks in advance,
Isaac

2009/6/4 Isaac Alves isaacal...@gmail.com

Thanks Anthony and Jordan for your responses, I´ll send you the files so
you can look around if you have the time.
I´ve reorganized the loading objects so they load now in queue. The small
thumbs, the big ones , then the full images.
But eventually the user will click in a thumbnail in order to load an image
that it´s not yet loaded, so at this moment I believe that it will be forced
to load 2 images at the same time ( and even a lot, if an user decides to
click in many thumbs in a row, especially with a slow internet connection
 !)

I´d like to know also how could I do the housekeeping , after loading the
images... I´ve tried to set some variables to null but it doesn´t work...
and I´ve tried not to forget to remove the unnecessary listeners.

 So, again , thanks a lot !
 Isaac

if you are looking for robust and stable , really stable solution , forget
about Zinc , use Northcode SWF Studio and you will thank me later for this
advice .
I am a user of Flash Projectors for more than six years , I've tried the
most known : ScreenWeaver (now dead) , ScreenTime mProjector , Zinc, and
SWFStudio . believe me you will never find a tool like Northcode one , and
the support is outstanding too. I'm a registered user since 2005 (after
leaving Zinc) and I'm very happy till now . they are amazing and very
helpfull . just spend an hour reading the forums and you will see how the
folks are happy there.

regards.

 Straight Forward Human-like API
 Ignores Nesting
 Treat Multiple Objects As Groups
 Works In Full Screen Mode
Use As Many Targets As You Need
Use As Many Alignment Methods You Need In One Method Call
 25 Different Alignment Methods
 Easily Add New Alignment Methods
TruePixel Option For Even Pixel Results
 Choose To Apply Results Immediately
Or Just Get Return Values For Animating
 70% Documented Using ASDoc

This is an example of the kind of stuff you can do with the VizAlign class.

Question: I have ideas for more functionality but am not sure if they are

If enough people are interested then I will consider adding functionality
