You need to make sure that the font you have supports the Cyrillic characters.
For example, if you swap out the font to say 'Arial', do the characters appear? I have embeded all of the character sets that I can for my font (Serifa Blk) but the words will not show. If I use device fonts the words display correctly (though I have to embed the fonts so they render correctly). If someone could advise me what I'm doing wrong I would be really grateful.
