Was this ever resolved? It turns out I am trying to do the same thing, but the problem I am running into is that - while it loads all the elements - it also starts playing all of them.
I'm using Bokel's loaderCLass and I dabbled with the extension of that class from Tin Lion. Both work well, I just don't want the files to execute when they are finished loading. I just need everything loaded so when a user does click to that particular section, the .swf loads and starts playing without the need of the preloader.
