work. I'd try to avoid this kind of UI if
possible, popups are rather jarring. What are you really trying to
popup? What's the user task goal?

a button's click handler, but THE SAME CODE used when editing a
DataGrid cell FAILS!

Now that Flex 2 is here, it seems I seriously need a second edition of
the (great) Flex book Developing Rich Internet Clients with
Macromedia Flex. All the pieces changed (Flex 1.5-2.0, ActionScript
2.0-3.0, Flash 8.x-9), and there are new design metaphors (i.e. View
