Have a change handler on the ComboBox get the key value form the selectedItem and invoke an RPC call (protocol of you choice) aganst the server platform, passing in the key value. Have the backend query the database using the key, and return the value to Flex via a result handler. Have that handler set an instance variable to which you have bound the Tree. Voila! Tracy
