Hi,
As a fellow 48 year old I'd say it would depend on a who range of things,
not just the Flex scripting skills. For a start, where in the world are
you? Here in Europe there is a real shortage of Flex skills, so anyone with
a fair level of ability should be able to get a job.

But if that

There's a ton of Flex jobs in the States too. You don't even need a year,
you just need 2-3 medium sized applications under your belt and you're good
to go. Flex 4 is actually much easier than Flex 3. They replaced a lot of
complicated and disjointed low-level code with much simpler, higher-level

I had an issue after upgrading to 3.4/3.4.1 where my datagrid would throw a
selectedItem not in list exception (forgot exact details).
This seems to have been fixed in 3.5 as it no longer happens. Is there even a
rough guess when 3.5 nightly might be promoted to stable or even milestone
build?
I wrote an article on dev net if you are coming from an HTML background.

A child can only have one parent at a time.
I would profile the component and see if you can make it lighter.

It is a flash/browser issue. I'm surprised you got it working in FF. Maybe
the latest versions have finally made it possible. Slowly, one browser at a

can just start typing, but it isn't possible on all browsers
Hi Sebastien,
What exact functionality do you re-use from Canvas container? May be you can
substitute Canvas with UIComponent to reduce the memory footprint?
