[flexcoders] svg file format

2011-09-29 Thread jitendra jain
Hi Guys,

  It was really strange that Adobe supports svg at compile time and not at run
time.. I want one svg file at run time.. Is that possible..? If there is any
other external tools available to load that svg file in the application?

Thanks,

[flexcoders] Formatting a date

2011-09-29 Thread chinwesley
Hi everyone,

I am formatting my date for a Flex label but I don't know how to do it.

I have the following at the moment:

var formatter:DateFormatter = new DateFormatter();

formatter.formatString = -MM-DD;

var example:Date = new Date();

trace(formatter.format(example));

I am trying to display a label that will show the date in this format:
-MM-DD over the last 90 days so it needs calculate from now and then
backwards 90 day sand display that day.

Is that possible and how would I do it?

Regards,
Wesley

ok great tip, I'll try that

 Put those classes you don’t want to debug in an RSL, export it for release
 so it doesn’t have debug info, and use that RSL. The debugger should then
 skip over the code in those classes.

 I’ve never done it myself, but I know for sure that if classes get loaded
 in a module that is exported for release, I can’t debug into those classes.

 ok well basically say I'm trying to track the flow a certain command is
 taking, so for instance someone clicks a button in a view class, that
 dispatches an event to the view's mediator which then dispatches another
 event to robotlegs which then triggers a navigation event along with some
 requests to get data,etc , in this instance some of the navigation
 animations are being handled by tweener which is using an enterframe event
 to do it's animation. So if I hit F6 I keep getting pulled into tweeners'
 class like 60 times because it's using an onEnterframe, and then you could
 have some component that has a lot of invalidate calls as it renders itself.
 So basically I'd like to be able to say, hey I know all these classes are
 doing things but I don't care about them I want to skip over them
 automatically when I hit step over.

 I'm obviously not getting it then.

 My project uses thousands of classes and I can debug it and just look at
 the classes I want.

 What are you trying to do exactly? ie. What does monitor the activity
 taking place in a couple of the classes actually mean?

Hi All

When debugging some code and stepping through or stepping over some
 code,
   is
it possible to configure flex to not include certain classes in the
debugging session or at least to entirely skip those classes from
 begin
included in the debugging session(but they still need to execute,
 just
   don't
want to see it)

The reason for this is that sometimes I'm stepping though some code
 and
there are certain classes just dont' want to know about (for instance
tweening classes or robotlegs)

Anyone know if this is possible?

 From everything I've read, Flex components can only be added to Flex
  Components (ie: VBox to Application, VGroup to Panel, etc)

 I'm working in an AS3 view library (no Flex, just Sprites) where I
  need to add a Scrollable container component to the Stage on a click event.
  There's no way to do this as I see it unless I write my own Scroll
  container, use Flex SDK (don't think this works), or use
  fl.containers.ScrollPane (which is not an option since we're not using a
  .fla)

 So basically, I'm trying to accomplish this, as simple runnable

[flexcoders] White button label text in Alert

2011-09-29 Thread lanekelly5
For the life of me I can't get the button label text to be white when I roll
over the button in an Alert control (Flex 4). I have a custom button skin for
all the buttons in my app and the white color for the labelDisplay part works
just fine in all states. But when I use that skin for buttons on an Alert
control - the label changes to black on rollover.

Here's part of my app CSS:

.myButton {
chromeColor: #e68d00;
color: #ff;
font-weight: bold;
skinClass: ClassReference(assets.skins.CustomButtonSkin);
emphasizedSkin: ClassReference(assets.skins.CustomButtonSkin);
overSkin: ClassReference(assets.skins.CustomButtonSkin);
downSkin: ClassReference(assets.skins.CustomButtonSkin);
disabledSkin: ClassReference(assets.skins.CustomButtonSkin);
}

mx|Alert {
buttonStyleName: myButton;
}

I even went into the CustomButtonSkin.mxml and hardcoded the color attribute of
the labelDisplay spark label to 0xFF. Didn't help.

I'd really love to get the Alert buttons matching the rest of my app buttons.
They are except for the rollover color of the label.

[flexcoders] HELP Embedded font looks bold in Flash but crisp in Photoshop

2011-09-29 Thread dorkie dork from dorktown
I have embedded a font in my application and it looks bold when at runtime
in Flash but in Photoshop it looks normal. I tried changing every setting in
the world and what I found was that when I set the anti aliasing in
Photoshop to bold it looks exactly like it does in Flash. So that tells me
that in Flash the Anti Alias is set to bold and if I can set it to crisp
I'll get the style I want. How do I match the font???
