Hello,

You should be running some sort of repository, like SVN.  You would have the files on the server however you would also have a local copy on your computer and execute locally.  Once, you are finished with the file you can commit the file and the rest of organization would have access to the file.  Many possibilities with a code repository.  I recommend SVN...
