Hi Csomák, The reverse debugging feature was just shown as a sneak at MAX, so it's not in 4.6. My hunch is that when you packaged up your AIR application in Flash Builder, you just used the defaults and pointed them to the Google Marketplace. Re: [flexcoders] OAuth and AIR
I think this ends up being kind of a philosophical debate with no right answer. I agree with you that the ideal solution is the external web browser loading the provider's page so that the user never types their credentials into a site or window that isn't the one that belongs to the service. But because these are AIR applications and they're already running in a trusted environment, it seems like the user already trusts the application not to do anything harmful and so from a UX standpoint, just using AIR's HTML component is a better solution. My 2 cents. =Ryan r...@adobe.com On Sun, May 2, 2010 at 1:44 PM, anthony.cint...@rocketmail.com anthony.cint...@rocketmail.com wrote: Anyone know of a good solution for OAuth and AIR. Re: [flexcoders] Apollo features
I despise the idea of Apollo allowing hooks into the OS that can potentially make an Apollo app only run on a specific OS. I get the stuff about letting developers have full control, but part of the great story of Apollo is that it enables a new kind of cross platform application. If your client isn't going to look at Apollo and like the idea of targeting the other 5% then maybe they should be using Windows Presentation Foundation. =Ryan -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, February 3, 2007 7:15 AM -08:00 To: flexcoders@yahoogroups.com Subject: [flexcoders] Apollo features So your saying it's better for a company to re create the wheel then to leverage their existing investments. 80%+ of business applications are specific to windows not leveraging that investment is just stupid. So now if I have a client that wants to leverage Apollo I have to let them know their going to need to dump everything they have built as it's not cross platform, and even though they are a windows platform company they really need cross platform. I had never stated just target win dll's, and I had meant a value proposition for business. Do you honestly think that company is going to look at Apollo and say sweet now I can target the other 5% of the market. Let's dump everything and start over? [flexcoders] Using the Plugin version of Flex Builder
Since I upgraded to Vista I've been using the standalone version of Flex Builder. But over the weekend I decided to revert back to the plugin version. I like to have all of my extensions in separate folders in a separate directory so I installed the Flex Builder standalone version, then booted up Eclipse and added a new Update Site to Flex Builder. I pointed it at the Flex Builder Core option and created an extension location for it then restarted Eclipse. Now I get this error when I compile the app: Severity and DescriptionPathResourceLocation Creation Time Id unable to open 'C:\Eclipse\extensions\flex-builder-2_0_155577\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_2.0.155577\resources\frameworks/flex-config.xml' MyProject Unknown 1170107917751 8 C:\Eclipse\extensions\flex-builder-2_0_155577 is the extension location of the plugin, but I can't figure out why it is looking for flex-config.xml there. [flexcoders] YouTube and LocalConnection
Hi All, I'm loading YouTube videos in my application using SWFLoader (I don't want to grab the FLV directly so I have to use SWF). The problem is that while the video plays, when I unload the SWF, the sound keeps playing. Calling AS3 functions like stopAll(); does nothing, so I'm assuming I need to call stopAllSounds(); directly on the YouTube SWF. In researching, I know I can use LocalConnection to talk to VM2 SWFs, but all of the examples I've seen are ones in which I would have access to the code in the VM2 SWF, which I don't. I'm not sure I totally understand how LocalConnection works, so I may be missing something, but I thought I'd ping the list and see if anyone could point me in the right direction. I'm also not a huge fan of using External interface, so that's my last resort right now. Thanks in advance, =Ryan

[flexcoders] Inserting Something into the Middle of an Empty Array
I'm trying to insert an object at a specific index of an empty array. I am accessing the array as an ArrayCollection and using the addItemAt() function which I thought was supposed to expand the array automatically. From the docs ( http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flex/2/langref/mx/collections/ListCollectionView.html#addItemAt() ) Adds the item at the specified index. Any item that was after this index is moved out by one. If the list is shorter than the specified index, it will grow to accommodate the new item. But whenever I try to put something in the 6th position of an empty array, it throws an index out of bounds error. Am I misunderstanding the addItemAt() function or am I doing something wrong? =Ryan

[flexcoders] Cairngorm Events
I'm still not entirely clear on the event model in Flex 2, so hopefully this is an easy question. I want to add an event listener in one of my flex view components that will listen for a CairngormEvent to be dispatched and then run a function within that component. Pretty straight forward I thought. When my flex component is initialized, I call a function, doInit() that does the following:this.addEventListener(com.example.control.MyCustomEvent,myFunction);In this case, MyCustomEvent is a CairngormEvent but when I dispatch it using the typical Cairngorm event dispatcher, it doesn't fire myFunction. Re: [flexcoders] Flex Builder Memory leak
How do you mean compatible? In theory you can use it do so some 1.5 MXML but the code-completion won't be correct and you won't be able to compile projects like you can with Flex 2.0. If you're looking for a good Flex 1.5 editor for Eclipse, check out OxygenXML. The Web Tools Platform also has a good XML editor.-RyanFrom: Sauro, Nick[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2006 8:21 PM -08:00To: flexcoders@yahoogroups.comSubject: [flexcoders] Flex Builder Memory leak I know there is a memory leak involved with Design View, in Flex builder. Disable design view in the preferences. Does anyone know if the eclipse plug in for 2.0 will be compatible with 1.5?From: flexcoders@yahoogroups.com [mailto:flexcoders@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jonathan Miranda Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2006 3:10 PM To: flexcoders@yahoogroups.com Subject: [flexcoders] Flex Builder Memory leak Anyone else having the problem that if the FlexBuilder is open for extended amounts of time, that it gets slower and slower? Closing mxml components can take up to 3-4 seconds if I have the program open for an hour or more, and opening/closing projects gets longer and longer. Ironically, building the project doesn’t change but the builder is definitely having issues after time – copy and pasting big chunks can nearly freeze the program and it seems to only be affected if I have the builder open for over 2-3 hours. I’ve got usually multiple projects open but only working in one – should I be closing all projects I’m not working on? I usually open another file in another project to see some code, then close that file and go back to working…closing would make that a lot longer process (open project and wait for it to load, open file, read, close file, close project). I’ve only got like 4-5 projects though, don’t think that’s the issue. _ Jonathan Miranda Flexible Master of the Web "In the game of chess, it's important to never let your opponent see your pieces."
