[flexcoders] Integrating Flex 1.5 or 2.0 with Community Server (Telligent)
Hello, Im developing a social networking website using Community Server portal software based on ASP.NET 2.0, more info about this product can be found at www.communityserver.com. My project is to deploy Community Server with Flex 1.5 or 2.0 for the presentation layer, in replacement of the existing default set of aspx pages, skins and themes. I would like to do this with the lowest amount code possible, considering that I can write HTML, CSS or MXML by hand but Im still novice with Visual Studio and other languages with which Im limited to existing code modification and skinning. With this in mind, my questions are: 1- Can Flex get data from existing aspx pages through HTTPService, when those pages return HTML (normally intended for direct browsing)? 2- Is there any requirement or specificities regarding the data format or structure returned by the aspx templates? 3- Is there any issued related to session management in this context of HTTPService Post / Get? [flexcoders] Need to deploy Flex 2.0 with Flash Player 8.0
Hello everyone, Im building my Flex 2.0 online portfolio which is, by itself, more design than logic oriented with the exception of some Flex 2.0 samples from Explorer. Since downloading Flash Player 8.5 requires registration under Macromedia Labs, I would like to deploy this application using Flash Player 8.0 in order to make it either directly viewable, or viewable after AUTOMATIC update of the player to 8.0, and this until 8.5 is publicly released (around spring ?). 1/ how to set Flex 2.0 to deploy for Flash Player 8.0? 2/ what are the features to be avoided while deployed for Flash Player 8.0? [flexcoders] Image loader from thumbnail repeater

everyone,
I use a repeater to
display a list of image thumbnails. I would like the main image to change when a
thumbnail is clicked. This is a classic scenario of image gallery.I tried
the following code which does not work, please note I'm new to Flex and my
knowledge of Action Script or programming syntax is limited (designer here). Any
advice?

The Image component in the code extract (initial post
below) relates tothe thumbnails. The"img" idrefers to the full
size image component on the same view. Whena thumb within the repeater is
clicked, it is expected to change the source of the full size image "img"
accordingly. Thumb and full size image are two physical images but share the
same exact name,it is the path that differs: /images/thand
/images/full.
Would you have a syntax recommendation (actual code)
for thesuggestion (first reply below)? Meanwhile, I will try to figure it
out and will post a reply if I succeed.
