We tested succesfully iFrame under Mac (safari) and Windows (IE and Firefox)

Although the component is meant to show mainly html pages, you can also embed
pdfs but not to render pdf on the client side.
We only found a limitation for using load indicator
One of our sellers in working on a similar component for under $15 (so
unfortunately not free) and the expectation is before next week is outit should
be uploaded. I can post a note here when ready if you are interested in getting
that. Seems pretty bare bones and simple...
