I have played around with quite a few things and it appears to remain a problem
with EmbeddedFontRegistry and its call (at 469) to SystemManager.callInContext
(at 1912) by the autogenerated class.

I have dug through the variables at the error and the fonts are there, for sure.

In EmbeddedFontRegistry.getAssociatedModuleFactory() (at 395) is the problem
with the module? The only thing I can see that could be NULL is the var
result:IFlexModuleFactory.

Anyways, I greatly appreciate you looking at this

[flexcoders] Re: URGENT: Need an *Expert (Alex?)* in Flex 4.5.1 Mobile Text

2011-08-04 Thread nagaofthesea

Howdy Alex-

I am MORE than happy to send you my FXP if you need it.

You missed my reply with the link, I posted it yesterday evening, but here
it is again:

I'm not saying you didn't say it, I'm saying that saying it doesn't always
make it so.

That version number does not necessarily indicate a debug version.

[flexcoders] Re: Urgent Prob - cant debug after upgrading to new player

2009-03-10 Thread reflexactions
Umm what test website do I hit and how to verify???

If you mean the player webspage that says you have version installed
etc. then yes I did and it said I had 10.xxx correctly installed...

Actually the application runs perfectly fine and it says player 10 in the About
box etc. its just it wont connect to the debugger at all thats the only
problem. I even created a new empty project, I also tried deleting mm.cfg,
anyhting I could think off all to no effect.

I couldn't wait any longer and so I did a system restore on Vista back to 24hrs
ago and that fixed it and debugging works again.

So now debugging works, well at least 50% of the time that is, the rest of the
time it hangs during loading but that at least is an offical bug that is being
worked on and I can live with the current work around.

tks

in which case I got the generateSwfCacheKey error, and then I used
Flah Taglibs in a .jsp, and got the generateJspCacheKey error. To
confirm, I just editied the .jsp and changed its contents
to Hello..., and the portlet displayed it perfectly. As soon as
you start using the mxml tags in the .jsp it goes bottoms-up.
Portlet code below (I will wait for Matt's response on the 48
hour new stuff)

package com.test;

import javax.portlet.PortletRequestDispatcher;

public class Test extends javax.portlet.GenericPortlet
{
public void doView(javax.portlet.RenderRequest request,
   javax.portlet.RenderResponse response)
throws javax.portlet.PortletException,
java.io.IOException
{
response.setContentType(text/html);
PortletRequestDispatcher rd =
  getPortletContext().getRequestDispatcher
  (/ftest/index.jsp);
  //ftest/index.mxml
rd.include(request,response);
}
}

 I'm not sure why this is happening unfortunately. In both of those

 So either request is null or the request.getRequestURL() method is
 returning null? I'm not sure why either of those would happen.

There is a 2.5 feature that allows quick enabling of Flex applications
as local portlets and as WSRP producer portlets. It is documented in
Chapter 18 of the Beta 2 documentation. Here is the summary paragraph
from the documentation,

The portal feature lets you easily configure Flex client applications
as local portlets on a portal server. It also lets you enable Flex
client applications for consumption by a portlet consumer using portal
servers that support WSRP.

The 2.5 Beta 2 will be publicly available tomorrow evening. If you
would like access before then, please send an email to Leslie Lewis,

2007-03-19 Thread jeffjvroom
I'm not sure why this is happening unfortunately. In both of those
stack traces, the line of code looks like:

   String uri = request.getRequestURL().toString();

So either request is null or the request.getRequestURL() method is
returning null? I'm not sure why either of those would happen.

Thanks for responding :)

I am able update the ArrayCollection using ac.itemUpdated(obj).

I tried putting this code in the DataGrid's click event and assign some
value to my ArrayCollection and it works.

But this is not the place I wanted as the click event will let me do it
on the newly selected row. But I would want it in the previously
selected row, something like a focusOut on the row maybe ?

Hold on a sec. There is no other version of the fop.jar anywhere in flex, so I couldn't follow your suggestion. Flex comes w/ some jar called fdb.jar - it's MANIFEST file sets a classpath w/ the various batik-***.jar files that flex comes w/, as well as
xercesImpl.jar. My version of fop (0.20.5 I believe) has a manifest w/ batik.jar and xercesImpl-2.2.1.jar. I don't understand how/why BEA's classloader is confusing jars w/ different names.

One more theory: the exception I get in loading the app has to do w/ CSS parsing. Fop comes w/ xml-apis.jar - this jar is referenced in the MANIFEST of fop.jar. Flex comes w/ xmlParserAPIs.jar - this jar is referenced in the aforementioned
fdb.jar manifest. Both jars share CSS parsing classes (i.e. CSSRule). The flex version is a later version than the fop version. I'm going to try removing xml-apis.jar from the build and see what happens.

On 12/11/05, Jaime Bermudez [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Hold on a sec. There is no other version of the fop.jar anywhere in flex, so I couldn't follow your suggestion. Flex comes w/ some jar called
fdb.jar - it's MANIFEST file sets a classpath w/ the various batik-***.jar files that flex comes w/, as well as xercesImpl.jar. My version of fop (0.20.5 I believe) has a manifest w/ batik.jar and
xercesImpl-2.2.1.jar. I don't understand how/why BEA's classloader is confusing jars w/ different names.

I want to do a little further explaination here too. Its not an issue
that there is a different version of fop.jar. Even if the jars were
100% identical this issue would occur.

Class loaders are tricky little buggers. For instance

// loaded by loader 1
String foo = bar;

// loaded by loader 2
String bar = foo;

// Now try this

bar = (String) foo;

BOOM!  ClassCastException.

Say huh? Yep. Even the same class, same version, loaded by different
loaders are incompatable.

Nice eh?

For lesson #2 we can talk about singleton patterns and class loaders.
