Hi All,
Anyone know what
the story is on the 2.5khz signal on 7073? Been on there for quite
awhile this evening, about s7 peak here in Albq. NM. Looks like amatuer DRM,
covers the space normally used by PSK31. . . Digtrx does not
seem to recognize it, but I don't know what
Much wider than psk31 and a lot narrower than drm but it is very
interesting with its mesa shape. It's been there for at least the
last six months. It's 20 dB out of my noise in el29 at 1100Z this
morning.

Hi
I get the following s meter upper scale readings with the rx preamp and am
wondering why they are backwards (the higher the gain the lower the
reading). This is with no input signal to the receiver.
off -95db
low -102
med -119
high -124

Bill,
This is a good question because the S Meter is working just as one should.
Historically, S Meters have simply read the AGC voltage, which means that
most are highly inaccurate. If you turn down the RF Gain on most receivers
you will see the S Meter rise even though the signal does not.

Hello Bill,
Keep in mind that the more sensitive a reciever the lower the noise
floor. These negative db readings all correspond to voltage and so the more
negative the number, the more sensitive it becomes or less microvolts at the
antenna required for audible recovery. A reciever with a

Has anyone tried to reverse the mikw phase 180 degrees from within the

Does anyone know what 160 meter filter Larry is referring to? I've noticed that I have horrible Broadcast Band images appearingthroughout 160 meters, and I was going to roll my own filter, but...is there an official "Flex-Radio"or a recommended after-market filter that I could also use? Thanks!
Bill,

On the SDR-1000, we actual measure the true RMS power within the 3dB
bandwidth of the selected filter.

When you reduce the preamp gain,
you in turn increase the noise floor of the receiver while simultaneously
increasing IP3. You are effectively shifting the dynamic

There is a problem with the SDR-1000 (many other radios too) when you live in an

Would you or Richard be able to upload a short (two or

BTW, this website is becoming an outstanding source of
information for the SDR-1000 and SoftRock communities.
Thanks, Dale.

Richard,
Can you describe your setup a little more?
What PSK program are you using?
Are you using VCOM or a physical serial

Are you using VAC or a second sound card?

Like Tim said, we will likely need more
