[Flexradio] Companding, Compression and Equalizer

GM, Now that I have everything on my Power Console, pre 12 working with the Firebox except some CAT issues (previously reported), I want to set up the finer points. What are the proper settings for Compand, Compression and the transmit equalizer? How do you know, and how do you test it?

Bill, The fact that we have never enabled a transmit monitor for AM stems from our heritage. Using a soundcard with a single stereo in/out connection, you only have one output to work with. Since we do AM at an IF, this made monitoring impossible. Along comes cards with multiple stereo in/out

Chas, These settings will vary with voice/microphone/soundcard setup. Also, you may use different settings when operating in different modes or environments (hence the Transmit Profiles). Please see the control descriptions for the Compander/Compressor/TXEQ in Chapter 7 of the Operating Manual.
