Hi Folks,
more than one year ago I have proposed my graphics to the Flex user group.
My dream SDR looking like a old japan Radio was a simple provocation
to the sw programmes, with a lot of discussions and all stories here:
Please, do not misunderstand Dave. I recognize
and laud your historic QSO.
My caution was about revealing the details of
the QSO because of the recent ARRL prohibition.
The questions were a spin-off topic from there.
The SDR-1000 and combined intelligence and
efforts of the group have started
..
Thanks
Scott

John,
I was engaged in a conversation about SRDs on the Ten Tec reflector a
couple of days ago. Someone stated that SDRs needed to look like
real radios in order to get wide acceptance. These consoles
certainly fill that bill. Well done. However, I question the wisdom
of filling up a

I really don.t care what it looks like as long as it works and it DOES

While trying to get my external amp to key, I discovered that I could
get it to key if I used a parallel parallel cable but I could not get
it to key with the USB-parallel (flexradio) cable.
With the flexradio USBparallel cable the X2-7 pin (PA Control) is

An all-mode console is great when demonstrating the radio to your SWL

Did EVERYBODY miss the post from Joel, W5ZN, League President, a couple of
days ago on this reflector? There's NO issue here. He said so. You couldn't
get The Word any more directly than that.
This is a simply remarkable accomplishment on Terry and Dave's part.

The discussion has been very interesting and just shows the diversity of
opinion and of course who would expect anything else. User interfaces
are so subjective you ain't never gonna please everyone. Heck I can't
even agree with myself half the time on what I like and don't like and I

I'm looking forward to messing with some external analog controls (as a
musician I've got a bunch of midi devices that are just itching to get some
RF under their nails.)
Another option that I think would really open things up (and provide for
physically challenged operators) would be a voice

An excellent point! (in the pro SDR world, modes are called waveforms)
If available, you would probably want several similar consoles, each
Bob et all, this HAS been an interesting discussion! I think no one has
pointed out however that the GUI doesn't have to be this way or that way.
The use of skins makes it possible for everyone to select the interface that
pleases him (or her). Even though the GUI is subjective, it is another

What version of the software are you using? If you are using an SVN
version, take a look at the RF control on the front panel. Also, make sure
the front panel AGC setting is not set to Fixd.

Tnx Eric and Gerald for your prompt response.
Running SVN 652 (problem is not there when I go back to 1.6.2.).
Dialed in Gerald's settings on custom AGC and still the same.
Seems as if no AGC action taking place.
While at it ... my NR on CW makes it almost uncopiable ... but thought I read

Jerry,
I agree on that. Some of the controls on the console are just used
in one mode. Why have a compander control in digital, or any audio
controls in CW? Maybe it should be standard to drop controls that
are not used in a particular mode, and use that valuable real estate
for a control
