Most of the time, exact frequency control is not as critical in cw or ssb
mode.
But...
IT'S EXTREMEMLY critical in digital contests.
Just a few Hz will make the difference of decoding a digital signal,
ESPECIALLY a weak digital signal.
I operate Digital Contests using Writelog by calling CQ on
Ray and all,
I'm using the Diamond GZV4000, 40 A continuous. Great for SO2R or
just two radios. Small, quiet switcher, fully metered, front
adjustable output voltage. Reviewed by QST in Sept 2000 or check web
site. I've detected no RFI. Sells for $180.

I use the Sami Aintila's hotwheel program and have reprogrammed the left
and right arrow keys on the number pad to control the RIT. You still have
the focus on the logging program. I also reprogrammed the #5 key(+Alt)on the
number pad to zero the rit.
and the Value reverts back to 90 every time the program is restarted
here once the standby switch is pressed

One little mislabel in the software.
The RF label has now become AGC but it definitely still controls the rf
gain.

I think if the core function of the mouse wheel was changed, the word

I am sure I am preaching to the choir here, but will post this anyway.
I tested version 1.10.1 here and cannot duplicate the reversion of the last
setting back to 90. The software behaves as I would expect and restores the
previously set level. I moved through the complete range and found this to
Folks,
Currently my SDR-Alpha directory SVN path is set to:
svn://206.216.146.154/svn/repos_sdr_windows/PowerSDR/trunk/bin/Release
Is there a new path for version 1.10 alpha updates, or will these be posted in
the same place?

I notice that the latest beta of power SDR uses almost twice the CPU
percentage as ver 1.8. Also, the panadapter jumps around strangely on the
beta. Any thoughts? Thanks and 73,

Charles,
Wow! The Diamond GZV4000 looks like a really great P/S, especially for that
price! I guess it all boils down to the 1st piece of equipment that you
find that meets your requirements is reasonably priced becomes the best
one for you. Everyone has their own best. I like my Alinco's,

I am a cw enthusiast. Am considering buying a Flex 5000A and would like to
know how well it would interface to my existing QSK amplifiers that have and
transmit in and out keying line to control hot keying of amplifier.
Also any other comments pertaining to QSK cw operation of the new Flex 5000A
Out of curiosity, why not operate in Split mode leaving VFO B alone and just
using VFO A to tune the people you are listening for?
Even with that suggestion, it would still be nice to have some quick
shortcut ways to modify the RIT/XIT frequencies.

We are working out of the trunk for now (so the answer is yes...you're right
where you need to be). If we move to a branch, we'll post to the reflector.

Hi Eric
The contesting program gives automatic clearing of RIT offset by
including %O in my QSL macro. In contesting, every little bit of
automation helps, and every run station wants this. You often get
a new QSO every few seconds, and this can go on for an hour (we
wish). You just don't
Ben,
I don't know if this will be of any help but I key my Ameritron AL-80B using
an Ameritron QSK-5 T/R switch from the FLEX5000 by simply connecting the
Flex TX-1 relay to the key input of the QSK-5. Works fine for me.
Not knowing exactly which amplifer you are using, I can't make a more
