I've foregone SSB operation on the SDR 1000. I had too much trouble
interfacing the microphone and the XYL doesn't like SSB operation much
anyway.
But, I'm thinking about reviving SSB with the Flex5000.
It does appear that a wider range of microphone impedances will work. I
can't even find the

I'm getting a message The voltage output is outside of ideal operating

What does this mean and how do I fix it.
I never adjusted this, with 1000 or 5000
In fact I can't even find it in the Setup options for 5K

I can't help you with the Click-Tune problem but if you will right-click any
of the filter buttons you can customize them any way you like for any mode.

What is the voltage at RX and the voltage during transmit?
At RX it should be 13.8. During transmit, it is OK if it drops by a few
tenths of a volt.

I see this 2-3 times a day, its not an issue with CPU utilization. I
will run the utility Tim referenced and see what the story is. I only
started to see this post 10.1 btw.

A few notes on the subject:
1) Phil Theis is working on a FlexWire conversion for the UCB board.
2) Eric plans to add the ability to use TX1-TX3 as a binary output to allow
up to eight antennas to be controlled using those outputs with an external 3
to 8 decoder.
3) We will plan to have a host of

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone on this. Here are a few key
facts:
1) RX2 will be synchronous with the RX1 clocks so they can be used together
for beam peaking or notching
2) RX2 can tap off of RX1 antenna or it can have its own external antenna
(preferred).
3) RX2 has exactly

Gerald,
If TX1-TX3 can be set to become a binary output for band-decoding, how would
you key an external device such as an amp. If TX1-TX3 are sending out a
binary code for antenna switching or other band-encoded function, then they
would have to be in that state during both TX RX, and
Amen, and for those amongst us who wish for a timed sequenced output for
TX1-TX3, consider making that a selectable option. We all can wish in one
hand, want in the other and see which one fills up first!

I miss the knobs on the Flex radio. On cw I work the key with my right hand
but cannot operate the mouse with my left hand. With a traditional radio
this is much easier.
Very often I find myself bumping a slider or worse the VFO with an
inadvertent mouse move. The computer interface with a

Maarten,
A properly set-up Shuttle-Pro tuning device takes care of most of your
concerns about clunky mouse, RIT adjust , filters changes, wpm +/-, AF,

One of the real beautiful thing about this hobby is that there are so
many aspects that you can enjoy that it never gets dull. As

By chance, is there any documentation of the flex wire protocol /

I am familiar with i2c, and while my rig is the sdr1k I thought I might
create a flex wire emulation from the sdr1k to enable easier future

Johns description of the Shuttle has me interested.
Does anyone have one...they would be willing to lend me?
I'd hate to buy one, and find that my present system is equal or better.
Of course I'd pay postage and couple of Polish, real men type beers.

Is anyone having success with that configuration in Contest mode?
