Yes, the 5000 does CAT commands but the MFJ tuners do not. They only interface
with the Kewood antenna tuner connector which is seperate from the CAT
connector. I do not have one but from the other e-mails, it sounds like the
Palstar understands Kenwood CAT.

I run the 5000a with the AT-AUTO. Works great.
The setup goes like this.
I have the 5000a cat port in PowerSDR set to com 16. Com 16 is paired with
com 6 in N8VB's vCom driver.
Then I use K5FR's (Steve Nance) DDUtil to handle virtual com ports.
