Its a real shame that MS didn't stop doing new OS development after
Win2k. Its the most stable OS I use (I include my OS X/Linux machines
in that comparison). I run my dxcluster on it (www.k3nc.com btw) and
it never (and I mean never) goes down due to the OS. Light (enough)
and stable, who needs

Yes, Win2K for a business OS is rock solid. (they've only been through six
service packs). We use it at work for our mobile data terminals. Not much of
a memory or cpu hog once you disable unnecessary services and lock it down.
It's just not that multimedia friendly when compared to XP.
I ran
Based on my experiences in our lab where I work Vista = ME 2007...
Vista *is* the main reason that my at home computer usage is now Ubuntu Linux
90% of the time. If it wasn't for a few amateur radio apps only running on
Windows I would not be using Windows at all anymore in my house..

We will all be expecting to work some DX from Dublin then. A QSO from you
should be worth at least 10 points :-)

Yes.. but you don't have to sell XP to do that. All you have to do is
make sure that some
I hope the interface implementation to this bus is a lot more creative than
outputting to a few relays.

Chuck,
You not only have to add a record for the frequency you want to label, but
you also have to split the range of frequencies that the labeled frequency
is in into 2 separate records so that they do NOT include the labeled
frequency.
Clear as mud? Maybe an example will help.

Alan,
If you read my reply to Chuck, AA5J, then you will see that the way the
database software are structured, clicking on a frequency to add a custom
label would not be an easy feature to implement. Each frequency does not
exist in the database as an entity by itself, but rather the spectrum
Yes, I can see that now, Ray. Oh well...

Neal,
For what it's worth, the company I retired from last year was still ordering
PC's from Dell with Win2k Pro loaded. We still had not embraced the idea of
moving to XP on the production floor, too unstable. Remember, these PC's
were controlling the equipment processes used to manufacture
Ray or anyone else,
You appear to be quite familiar with the structure of the database. I
have been looking at altering a behavior of the band stacking registers
and I need some help.
On 60 meters, the frequencies are fixed. Once one is selected, you can
tune it normally but reselecting it
The algorithm itself locks it in that way. Take a look at private void
SaveBand() in console.cs under the case Band.B60M. You could just remove
the frequency qualification there and I think it would work then. ;)

Yes we are working with it. Eric got jackmp to show up in PowerSDR
yesterday. This can and eventually will replace VAC. It is under rapid,
and I mean almost hard to follow, development and they have not done release
one. Netjack 2 just became semifunctional. There is a lot to do but the

Anyone have any suggestions for getting WSJT to run with PowerSDR? I
can select the VAC stream-in but WSJT shows no signal. I have tried
all the combinations I can think of to no avail.

Brian,
If I remember right, you have to map the sound to different port numbers
in the chart, on mine it seems that my sound in was port 2 for my
Virtual Sound output from PowerSDR. And something like 7 for the
Virtual Sound input to PowerSDR.. The mappings are somewhat confusing.
