Actually it's a bug. Try hitting AB twice and you can hear the sound plays
fine. Also if you press mox you can hear the sound normally and the bonus is
that the next time you don't need to press anything, just press play. But it's
only for one time, then again you need mox.

There were several of us running FLEX-3000s last night on 40m (7.181) @ 0130
UTC that gathered a fairly large round table before propagation changed swiftly
we all dropped into the noise. It was really fun to listen to other FLEX-3000s
and talking about the radio in general.
Why is the MONITOR function disabled in the AM FM modes? It sure would be
nice to have.

I understand what you're getting at but,
It's interesting using the PowerSDR panadapter to examine
signals. I'll often see a strong SSB station with lots of

equally strong stations with no opposite

Good point. Some digi mode programs are better than others at generating AF
without the harmonics leaking through. That is why I always use a TX filter
that that matches the mode bandwidth + 20% for AFC shift for digital modes.

Brian,
Your points are well taken. However, recent items in this thread seemed
to be suggesting that a stripped down, dedicated PC was a requirement
for running the radio, even to the extent of resorting to esoteric
flavors of XP! At least in my (statistically small sample of one) case,

Good day, all;
I used to have an SDR-1000 a long time ago. Back then, I enjoyed
the progression the radio's functionality took, as I did the right-click

Now that I have received my shiny Flex-3000, I am wondering
It sounds like you are doing the right things. Yes, shut down Psdr
before doing the upgrade as it will overwrite the program's exe file.
Its second nature to me now, I hardly even remember that I do it every day!

Mike,
Things may have changed since you used SVN last.
Based on your e-mail, you have only downloaded the binaries for the TRUNK. The
trunk is the current PowerSDR release (v1.18.0) with only bug fixes. It is the
most stable PowerSDR binaries in the SVN tree (excluding the tags).

Let me do a few compiles and do some movie editing and graphic rendering at the
same time that you are trying to talk on the radio. Something just tells me
that there's going to be a few audio dropouts.
If you have a system with significant overhead and you are using applications

The monitor is disabled on AM (and FM) since the monitor is literally the
transmit audio and we use an 9kHz IF on AM. This makes for some pretty noises
into your ears. ;)

Mike,
If the SWR is less than 1.2:1 I don't think that the tuner needs to
tune anything and drops out. My dummy load won't tune either, but
doesn't need to. Also my 75 meter does not tune, but it is 1.08:1..
at 3.847,, but at 3.55 it's 3.3:1, but the tuner will re-tune it to
1.1..
