John,
That information has not been published yet. As soon as it is, there will be a
KB article describing the different combinations and it will be announced on

I haven't been able to find anything that describes the mode/band
operation and antenna selection matrix for the 5000 with the VHF/UHF
upgrade installed. In other words, what bands are available on what
rear panel connectors, and what combination of HF/6M/VHF/UHF can operate
simultaneously? (

Nothing happens when attempting to transmit within 3 khz of the top of any
band, on any mode except AM. AM works normally. Selecting TUNE produces no
output either.
Panadapter shows modulation but no output.

Frank,
Glad that you got through it and all is well. Once you feel that
everything is stable, be sure to make a backup, or Restore point so that
you can always get back to a stable installation when all else goes bad.

Frank,
Neal is correct. It is probably a resource thing. Tim, W4TME, reports
having trouble with DPC's (the symptom you are describing) if he runs
Outlook at the same time as PowerSDR. I, however, run both simultaneously
with no issues.

This is a well known problem. When Outlook sends or receives mail, it results
in extremely long duration DPCs that lockup the data stream between the PC and
the radio hardware. It is utilizing the NIC card and the hard drive.
You can try setting the Firewire driver SafeMode to a higher value.
I had the same problem. It turned out that my firewire card was sharing the
IRQ with the soundcard. Then every time Outlook would generate a sound of
any kind PowerSDR would stop and I would have to click the start button on
and off. First I turned off those Windows sounds, and later on change
I think the issue is that Outlook ties up a bunch of system resources which
causes your system to pause. I think it would cause any program running to
pause but I never use Outlook so I cannot speak from experience.

You have done nothing. This feature was designed to prevent OOB transmit.
A new and improved algorithm for determining OOB transmit near the band edge is
in the latest development version of PowerSDR and will be a feature in PowerSDR
2.0 (next release).
