I have MIxW configured and working - sort of. I have been through the
WIIKI and the program is operating with PowerSDR except that my waterfall
in MixW is colored thin horizontal lines instead of the full waterfall I
see in the panafall. I have changed my sample rate in both PSDR and MixW
between
Don't get the connection. If we have good propagation in Europe
(multi-hop E or whatever) on 6 meters, why do we need an amateur
allocation on 4 meters. I believe a U. S. amateur in 2009 has already
submitted a proposal to the FCC for consideration of a 4 meter slice, but
the FCC has yet to respond
You are correct, multi-hop E into Europe is usually good on 6 meters every
summer. That's why we need an amateur allocation on 4 meters (70.0-70.5 MHz).
I keep mentioning it to the ARRL but they don't seem interested. Hopefully the
Canadians will push for it and then maybe the bureaucrats her
Everyone,
I just received a PAR high pass filter to block out the AM broadcast band
and above to permit receiving below 500 KHz. It's a 5th order low pass and
offers at least 40 db attenuation in the broadcast band.

Don't get too excited! Using our 3000's we were able to keep 98% of
regular skeds between central New Jersey and SW Wisconsin easily on 40 until
the dumb sun spots brought the QRM up to the point where we don't even try
to talk to each other on contest weekends!

Hi
I am using HRD with DM780 as the Data mode system with my 5000A transceiver.
So far I am able to decode incoming signals but am not able to transmit.
Is there where in the knowledge base that can walk me through the setup
or is there a friendly ham with this setup who can give me some pointe
There is always E skip, it's independent of the solar sunspot cycle with yearly
peaks in the Summer and lesser ones in the Winter. Good all the way to 2
meters sometimes! A solid E opening on 10 is good, just usually short time
wise. I've worked multi hop E into VK on 10 and 6 from New Eng
You just made lemonade! That's the way to look at it!
Heck, I hear many hams in the southern U.S. are working a guy in New Caledonia
on 6m! How bad can it really be?

Gee whiz, Kevin, that is grim. And just to add to the thickening
gloom, I might note that there was a spike a couple of months ago that
was as high as the projected top of the err
Except it's looking like the following cycles may be weaker still. See

Well if I have to wait till the next solar cycle, it will be the one that
starts about the time I retire and follows me into old age.
Oh well.

It's been a very tough solar cycle for my goals.
I was really hoping this one would be better.
I made it to the 2500 Challenge level, but it doesn't look good for any
advances.
Not sure I have another cycle left in me.

Or a bot has gotten hold of his password and is using his account as a sending
engine. Happens a lot to Hotmail users. A password change usually takes care of
that in such a case.
This also assumes the from address is not spoofed.
That said, a scan is recommended either way.
